The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of VV Druten booed when Vosseberg HC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ruud Zeydeveld didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rafael Alferink got free with Nigel Hebels in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. VV Druten's Nigel Hebels played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maikel Ihselmann in the 18th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jan Stühling made a kick off. 56 minutes into the game, Otto Luikens was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. VV Druten's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vosseberg HC the free kick. After a rather tough play, VV Druten's Otto Luikens got a free kick in the 56th minute. Chiel Pander fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Felix Saveneij having to interfere. Vosseberg HC's Hans Overdiep pulled a muscle in his back after 91 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Jan Stühling's late challenge caught a Vosseberg HC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jan Stühling helped the player get up and apologised. Jan Stühling kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. In the 94th minute of the match Co Hilbrands sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nigel Hebels skillfully saved the ball. After a defensive mix-up in VV Druten's zone, Rafael Alferink stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nigel Hebels came out of the goal and Rafael Alferink tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Vosseberg HC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
