The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Timo Vonk hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. The Aksel fans' excitement grew in the 6th match minute when Aksel's Jan Butter looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 15thth minute of the game Tim Vonk who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Lensheuvel S.C.'s Gregor Siemers was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After having played for 16 minutes, Jan Butter managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Aksel's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jan Butter was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 18 played minutes Lensheuvel S.C. got a freekick which was hit by Ruud Rogaars. Jan Butter struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Gregor Siemers didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Aksel. In the 20th match minute, Lensheuvel S.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gerrit Teuben to maneuver through the defense. Rudi Haas kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. In the 24th minute the ball was on its way in behind Lensheuvel S.C.'s goalkeeper Gregor Siemers, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 28th minute Tjeerd Erenstein shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ricky Boswijk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tim Vonk in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gregor Siemers prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tim Vonk in the 35th minute of play forced Lensheuvel S.C.'s goalkeeper Gregor Siemers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gregor Siemers made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tim Vonk in the 55th minute. The supporters of Aksel booed when Lensheuvel S.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ruud Rogaars didn't get a good kick on the ball. 58 minutes had been played when some careless play by Lensheuvel S.C.'s defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Peter Booy was slow to take the kick. During this time Aksel's players had a chance to rest. In the 61st minute, Pascal Adelaar left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Lensheuvel S.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Gregor Siemers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jan Butter, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Gregor Siemers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jan Butter, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gregor Siemers made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Tim Vonk sent off a good shot on target. Lensheuvel S.C.'s Gregor Siemers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jan Butter in the 84th minute of play. Tim Vonk fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gregor Siemers having to interfere. Tjeerd Erenstein fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ricky Boswijk having to interfere.
