Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Jan Butter made the kick off and thus started the match. Edwin Kaptein kicked well hit freekick during the 2nd minute of the match. Marc Klerk made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tim Vonk in the 3rd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in FC Gelsenkirchen 04's zone, Tim Vonk stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marc Klerk came out of the goal and Tim Vonk tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 11th minute, Erik Scholten got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 12th minute Jan Butter shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marc Klerk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match clock showed 17 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Tim Vonk sped through FC Gelsenkirchen 04's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Marc Klerk. Jan Butter might have been able to make a better finish in the 23rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marc Klerk. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jan Butter ran back to his position shaking his head. After 26 minutes of play, Aksel's Jan Butter made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Marc Klerk was left in no man's land by his defense there! Tim Vonk fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marc Klerk having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jan Butter in the 34th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marc Klerk prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Oscar Schaars during the 37th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 36th minute of the game. One of FC Gelsenkirchen 04:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Aksel:s goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Tim Vonk managed to get in a good position for a shot. Aksel's supporters rose to their feet, but Tim Vonk was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marc Klerk breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Marc Klerk showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jan Butter, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Jan Butter blasted a shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Marc Klerk having to make a save. In the 48th minute, Tim Vonk ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marc Klerk was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4.

The wind increased when Erik Scholten made the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute, Jan Butter got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tim Vonk received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Marc Klerk tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marc Klerk made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tim Vonk in the 64th minute. Jan Butter's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marc Klerk read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 65th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Peter Booy during the 70th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Aksel's Peter Booy got a free kick in the 70th minute. Ricky Boswijk stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Erik Scholten's shot from short distance in the 73rd minute. Erik Scholten struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Ricky Boswijk didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Gelsenkirchen 04. When Elbert Batenburg fell near the penalty area in the 77th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Gelsenkirchen 04's protests and gave Elbert Batenburg a yellow card for diving instead. In the 77th match minute, FC Gelsenkirchen 04 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elbert Batenburg to maneuver through the defense. When Aksel's Jan Butter in the 78th minute got a chance for a shot 78th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FC Gelsenkirchen 04's goalie prevented a goal. Tim Vonk might have been able to make a better finish in the 82nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marc Klerk. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tim Vonk ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 84th minute, Izaak Franssen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ricky Boswijk made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frits Ijksma in the 86th minute of play. Jan Butter fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marc Klerk having to interfere. In the 93rd minute, Aksel's Jan Butter ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Marc Klerk. Marc Klerk yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-5. Marc Klerk made a fantastic save in the 98th minute, when Tim Vonk sent off a good shot on target. The FC Gelsenkirchen 04 fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Aksel were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
