The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to Titans United getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jan van Zonderen got free with Thijs Thomasse in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Coenraad Overdiep sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Marc Redan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Titans United's supporters rose to their feet, but Marc Redan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jhon Holst breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Titans United's Frits Klinkhamer got a free kick in the 31st minute. In the 32nd minute, Henry Kosterman sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Titans United's Thijs Thomasse didn't even have to move. Coenraad Overdiep hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. Coenraad Overdiep fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thijs Thomasse having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Stepekolk FC's zone, Chiel Kuypers stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jhon Holst came out of the goal and Chiel Kuypers tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Chiel Kuypers stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Stepekolk FC's zone, Marc Redan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jhon Holst came out of the goal and Marc Redan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Titans United booed when Stepekolk FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Henry Kosterman didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Titans United's Jeroen Wilson got a free kick in the 60th minute. 61 minutes into the game, Stepekolk FC's Coenraad Overdiep nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Thijs Thomasse made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Jhon Holst made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Marc Redan sent off a good shot on target. Thijs Thomasse made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Coenraad Overdiep in the 66th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chiel Kuypers in the 77th minute of play forced Stepekolk FC's goalkeeper Jhon Holst to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 79th match minute, Titans United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Frits Klinkhamer to maneuver through the defense. After 82 minutes of play, Stepekolk FC's Franck Zegwaard made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Thijs Thomasse was left in no man's land by his defense there! Franck Zegwaard received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Thijs Thomasse tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Titans United's zone, Franck Zegwaard stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thijs Thomasse came out of the goal and Franck Zegwaard tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the Titans United players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Stepekolk FC.
