Nathan Mensing took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Geale Zonneveld, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 7 minutes into the match, Giersbergen VV's goal looked a bit too open when Geale Zonneveld came free, but Nathan Mensing reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Evert Pander received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Mario Saeijs tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jorn Mussies sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Alfred Hilberts had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Evert Pander sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ronald Eisenga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Mario Saeijs tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alfred Hilberts's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nathan Mensing read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 29th minute of play. In the 32nd minute, Barrier's Geale Zonneveld dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. In the 36th minute of the match Iwan Knol shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mario Saeijs showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Evert Pander blasted a shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mario Saeijs having to make a save. After a defensive mix-up in Barrier's zone, Ronald Eisenga stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mario Saeijs came out of the goal and Ronald Eisenga tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mario Saeijs showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ronald Eisenga in the 46th minute of the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

In the 57th play minute Ronald Eisenga came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Mario Saeijs. 1-1. Evert Pander fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mario Saeijs having to interfere. With a little luck, Barrier's Mario Saeijs got control of the ball when Ronald Eisenga tried to sneak it across the goal line. Mario Saeijs was a little too slow when Evert Pander got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 66th minute. The score was now 1-2. In the 73rd minute, Geale Zonneveld got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Alfred Hilberts fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nathan Mensing having to interfere. Mario Saeijs showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Evert Pander, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Nathan Mensing didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alfred Hilberts went, in the 86th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. Mario Saeijs made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ronald Eisenga in the 90th minute. When Joep Wilson fell near the penalty area in the 97th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Giersbergen VV's protests and gave Joep Wilson a yellow card for diving instead. In the 97th minute, Joep Wilson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Giersbergen VV were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
