Emile Sneijder hit a great ball. 7 minutes into the game, Carel Zegwaard cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Huub Tanis was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Huub Tanis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carel Zegwaard, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. Boxum's Jelle Kiewiet proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save Boxum from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Roch Dankowski got free with Jelle Kiewiet in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 18 played minutes Boxum got a freekick which was hit by Emile Sneijder. Boxum were furious when Marcus Homan was red carded, 20 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 22nd minute, Rivierenwijk SC got a penalty, and Donald Bruin placed the ball unsaveable into goal, by the right post. Jelle Kiewiet came out of the goal in the 26th minute to try and stop a shot by Rivierenwijk SC's Domingos Almeida. But to his dismay, Domingos Almeida quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Ang Lee struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Jelle Kiewiet didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rivierenwijk SC. Vincent Jurjens sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Domingos Almeida received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Jelle Kiewiet tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Ang Lee had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 46 minutes into the game, Carel Zegwaard was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Boxum's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rivierenwijk SC the free kick. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Domingos Almeida was the one to do the kick off. Ang Lee sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Roch Dankowski might have been able to make a better finish in the 60th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jelle Kiewiet. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Roch Dankowski ran back to his position shaking his head. 64 minutes into the match, Boxum's goal looked a bit too open when Roch Dankowski came free, but Jelle Kiewiet reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 77th minute, Boxum's Vincent Jurjens dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-2. Rivierenwijk SC's Huub Tanis proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Rivierenwijk SC from getting a goal against them. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Roch Dankowski managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rivierenwijk SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Roch Dankowski was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jelle Kiewiet breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience was convinced that Domingos Almeida's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jelle Kiewiet was relentless in the 92nd minute of the game.
