Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) FC Groendam's Philip de Mol started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Philip de Mol managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Groendam's supporters rose to their feet, but Philip de Mol was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Humberto Kikkert breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Falco Spannenburg hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. If Philip de Mol had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Zanddijk FC's Humberto Kikkert proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save Zanddijk FC from getting a goal against them. After 30 minutes, Oscar Schaap mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Zanddijk FC and the FC Groendam players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 38th minute Bastiaan Zwart shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Domenik Veldhuis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 39 played minutes FC Groendam got a freekick which was hit by Co Wessels. If Bastiaan Zwart had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Philip de Mol sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bastiaan Zwart to make the kick off. Humberto Kikkert made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gerard Alkema in the 55th minute of play. 61 minutes in the game Elco Savenije after having made a beautiful turn got a great opportunity to score and fired away a shot that went just to the left past a relieved Domenik Veldhuis. A very good opportunity. Zanddijk FC's Humberto Kikkert played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Philip de Mol in the 74th minute of play. Humberto Kikkert took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Philip de Mol, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. FC Groendam's Philip de Mol got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Humberto Kikkert showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Philip de Mol, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. Philip de Mol struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Humberto Kikkert didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Groendam. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The FC Groendam fans cheered their team off the field, for while Zanddijk FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
