After 5 played minutes Mheer HC got a freekick which was hit by Wouter Buskes. 6 minutes into the match, Coos Kemper had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Donald Damstra. Mheer HC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Coos Kemper was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. 10 minutes into the game, Coos Kemper cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Donald Damstra was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 13th minute, Wouter Zuiverloon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Herman Huisingh stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Teo van Assen's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. Otto de Jong fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Herman Huisingh having to interfere. The supporters of Leovardia booed when Mheer HC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joost Dorenbosch didn't get a good kick on the ball. With his leg Herman Huisingh managed to avoid a goal in the 20thth minute, when Mheer HC's Teo van Assen fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Aad Winters received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Donald Damstra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 24th match minute, Mheer HC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joost Dorenbosch to maneuver through the defense. In the 27th minute Coos Kemper shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Donald Damstra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Wouter Buskes during the 27th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Leovardia's Herman Huisingh played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Teo van Assen in the 31st minute of play. A collision led to Leovardia getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Coos Kemper hit a great ball. Otto de Jong received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Herman Huisingh tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Leovardia's zone, Otto de Jong stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Herman Huisingh came out of the goal and Otto de Jong tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Aad Winters fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Donald Damstra having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Teo van Assen in the 43rd minute of play forced Leovardia's goalkeeper Herman Huisingh to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Aad Winters managed to get in a good position for a shot. Leovardia's supporters rose to their feet, but Aad Winters was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Donald Damstra breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Aad Winters stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Wouter Zuiverloon was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 55 minutes had been played. In the 55th minute, Wouter Zuiverloon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Leovardia defense, Otto de Jong kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Herman Huisingh. The Leovardia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Herman Huisingh should have stopped the shot. 59 minutes into the match, Mheer HC's Otto de Jong sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Herman Huisingh narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 62nd minute, Timmie Schildkamp left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Mheer HC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. Otto de Jong fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Herman Huisingh having to interfere. Theo de Graaf's late challenge caught a Mheer HC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Theo de Graaf helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Leovardia getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Theo de Graaf hit a great ball. Mheer HC were awarded a corner in the 71th minute after Leovardia's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ronny Roeles took the corner. Teo van Assen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 76 minutes, Otto de Jong managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mheer HC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Otto de Jong was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 78 minutes into the match, Leovardia's goal looked a bit too open when Teo van Assen came free, but Herman Huisingh reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Otto de Jong in the 82nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Herman Huisingh prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Evert Eefting fell near the penalty area in the 84th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Leovardia's protests and gave Evert Eefting a yellow card for diving instead. Evert Eefting hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Otto de Jong struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Herman Huisingh didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mheer HC. An unexpectedly hard shot by Teo van Assen in the 92nd minute of play forced Leovardia's goalkeeper Herman Huisingh to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Theo de Graaf was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 93 minutes had been played. Theo de Graaf hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. 97 minutes into the match, Leovardia's goal looked a bit too open when Teo van Assen came free, but Herman Huisingh reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
