Mark Arends charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mark Arends the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Demy van der Schans in the 15th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tommie Theissen saved Idserdaburen HC from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Bennie Zuiverloon managed to get in a good position for a shot. Idserdaburen HC's supporters rose to their feet, but Bennie Zuiverloon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Laurens Okkes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Arnout van Baarle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arnout van Baarle received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Laurens Okkes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bennie Zuiverloon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Arnout van Baarle received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Laurens Okkes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 42 minutes into the match, Mheer's goal looked a bit too open when Arnout van Baarle came free, but Laurens Okkes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Roderick van Dalfsen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Demy van der Schans to strike the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the game, Demy van der Schans was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mheer's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Idserdaburen HC the free kick. A collision led to Mheer getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Demy van der Schans hit a great ball. If Bennie Zuiverloon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 59th minute Johan Tulner shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Laurens Okkes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Idserdaburen HC's Steven Sloedingen got a free kick in the 61st minute. Demy van der Schans received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Tommie Theissen came out and tried to block the shot, but Demy van der Schans slotted it home off the left post making it 0-1 in the 64th minute. Tommie Theissen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Demy van der Schans in the 67th minute of play. After 70 minutes, Bennie Zuiverloon mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Idserdaburen HC and the Mheer players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 70th minute, Bennie Zuiverloon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 83 minutes into the match, Mheer's goal looked a bit too open when Arnout van Baarle came free, but Laurens Okkes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Idserdaburen HC lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
