Ferry Bult made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pascal Douwes in the 9th minute. 12 minutes into the match, Wim van Gaal dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Ferry Bult, 1-0. In the 16th minute Wim van Gaal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ferry Bult saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 17th minute, Ernest Wilbrink got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ferry Bult showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Taco Douwes in the 18th minute of the match. Ferry Bult made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wim van Gaal in the 19th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Albert Schuiling in the 22nd minute of play forced Lemele's goalkeeper Roy van der Weerden to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 43rd minute of the match Robert-Jan Mans sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Roy van der Weerden skillfully saved the ball. Roy van der Weerden made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ernest Wilbrink in the 44th minute of play. Albert Schuiling received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Roy van der Weerden tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ernest Wilbrink was the one to do the kick off. Ees FC's attentive Nigel Kun managed to snatch the ball when Taco Douwes made a throw-in in the 53rd minute of the game. In the 55th minute, Hugo van Zwam hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Ees FC defense, Wim van Gaal kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ferry Bult. The Ees FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ferry Bult should have stopped the shot. 60 minutes into the match, Ees FC's goal looked a bit too open when Wim van Gaal came free, but Ferry Bult reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gerrit Zijlstra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 65 minutes into the match, Wim van Gaal had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ferry Bult. Ees FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Wim van Gaal was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. Ees FC's Ferry Bult played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wim van Gaal in the 68th minute of play. 72 minutes into the game, Bennie van Schaik threw the ball into play from the sideline. Ees FC's Hugo van Zwam quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Wilco van der Struijk's late challenge caught a Ees FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Wilco van der Struijk helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Ees FC booed when Lemele was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position.
