Alwin Hartogh made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jos van Someren in the 30th minute of play. If Jos van Someren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, FC Miauw's Gerben de Vries got a free kick in the 35th minute. Jos van Someren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alwin Hartogh having to interfere. Tim Dolfing's late challenge caught a FC Miauw's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tim Dolfing helped the player get up and apologised. Jos van Someren received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Alwin Hartogh tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jos van Someren stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After having played for 51 minutes, Harm Ierlandt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fryslan's supporters crossed their fingers, but Harm Ierlandt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some careless play in the Fryslan defense, Jos van Someren kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alwin Hartogh. The Fryslan fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alwin Hartogh should have stopped the shot. Alwin Hartogh made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jos van Someren in the 82nd minute of play. Rahim Levent fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Geert van Baarle having to interfere. 86 minutes in the game Jelmer Akkerman did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Rudolf Bos.
