After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Marco Lamey managed to get in a good position for a shot. AFC Ajax's supporters rose to their feet, but Marco Lamey was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Christiaan van der Doelen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, AFC Ajax's Gert Jan Iemberge got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Marick Otten took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 25th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Foeke Zuidam. AFC Ajax's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Klaas Bergmeester during the 28th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 28th match minute, AFC Ajax was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Klaas Bergmeester to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Stetson United booed when AFC Ajax was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Huub Wegman didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marco Lamey might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Christiaan van der Doelen. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Marco Lamey ran back to his position shaking his head. After 36 played minutes Stetson United got a freekick which was hit by Oliver Achterberg. Teo de Jager kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. Marinus Zeegers charged in rather forcefully in the 41st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marinus Zeegers the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Timo Wagemakers to strike the kick off in the second half. 56 minutes into the match, Marco Lamey notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Stetson United's Christiaan van der Doelen. Christiaan van der Doelen was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 60th minute Marco Lamey shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christiaan van der Doelen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to AFC Ajax getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Stefan de Rudder hit a great ball. In the 62nd minute of the match Frank Kostermans shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Foeke Zuidam showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 66 minutes into the match, Timo Wagemakers dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Foeke Zuidam, 1-1. After 72 played minutes Stetson United got a freekick which was hit by Marick Otten. Stetson United's Christiaan van der Doelen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Allard Kruis in the 75th minute of play. 77 minutes into the game, Bennie Baalman recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Foeke Zuidam. Bennie Baalman showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. Christiaan van der Doelen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Han Eefting in the 82nd minute of the match. Marco Lamey fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christiaan van der Doelen having to interfere.
