If Eddy Sans had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Eddy Sans managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hulsberg's supporters rose to their feet, but Eddy Sans was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ernst Hegeman breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arjan Tollenaar in the 37th minute of play forced Kickers United's goalkeeper Ernst Hegeman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 39th minute, Leendert Breinburg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Arjan Tollenaar struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Arjan Tollenaar to make the kick off. Ernst Hegeman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eddy Sans in the 53rd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Kickers United's zone, Eddy Sans stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ernst Hegeman came out of the goal and Eddy Sans tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Fred Kauffeld blasted a shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mitchell Lyle having to make a save. After a rather tough play, Kickers United's Ricky Weggemans got a free kick in the 69th minute. After having played for 81 minutes, Arjan Tollenaar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hulsberg's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arjan Tollenaar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ernst Hegeman didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Eddy Sans went, in the 81st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind Hulsberg's goalkeeper Mitchell Lyle, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Kickers United's Henk Kuypers got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 95th minute, Henk Kuypers got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Robert-Jan Craandijk hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. Henk Kuypers's late challenge caught a Hulsberg's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Henk Kuypers helped the player get up and apologised. After 97 played minutes Kickers United got a freekick which was hit by Henk Kuypers. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
