Piksen's Niels Meulman got a good chance for a goal in the 5th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Niels Meulman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ryan Stuijt having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ricky Toolenaar during the 10th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Piksen getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Ricky Toolenaar hit a great ball. Klaus Doll took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alexander Snoeks, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Klaus Zeegers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 20th minute of the match Corné Lamberts sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ryan Stuijt skillfully saved the ball. Otto Peppinck kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. Otto Peppinck was shown his second yellow card after 23 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 24th minute, Otto Peppinck hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 25th minute of the match Corné Lamberts sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ryan Stuijt skillfully saved the ball. 27 minutes into the game, Foeke van Zalen cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Klaus Doll was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The audience thought a goal was coming when Foeke van Zalen got free with Klaus Doll in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 32nd minute, Alexander Snoeks left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Nieuwacht VV fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. If Foeke van Zalen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 45 minutes into the match, Nieuwacht VV's goal looked a bit too open when Joop Roorda came free, but Ryan Stuijt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Niels Meulman struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Ryan Stuijt didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Piksen. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Joop Roorda was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of Nieuwacht VV booed when Piksen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Klaus Zeegers didn't get a good kick on the ball. Donny Kuys hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Ryan Stuijt made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Niels Meulman sent off a good shot on target. Niels Meulman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ryan Stuijt having to interfere. Ryan Stuijt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joop Roorda, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ryan Stuijt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joop Roorda, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Foeke van Zalen struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Klaus Doll didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Nieuwacht VV. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joop Roorda in the 78th minute of play forced Nieuwacht VV's goalkeeper Ryan Stuijt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 79th match minute, Nieuwacht VV was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Donny Kuys to maneuver through the defense. Joop Roorda blasted a shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ryan Stuijt having to make a save. Nieuwacht VV's Ryan Stuijt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joop Roorda in the 85th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Piksen's zone, Foeke van Zalen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Klaus Doll came out of the goal and Foeke van Zalen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Niels Meulman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Klaus Doll took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alexander Snoeks, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Piksen's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
