Wilco Kloppenburg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Dirk Zijlstra's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sjoerd Kruis was relentless in the 5th minute of the game. Meterik's Sjoerd Kruis proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save Meterik from getting a goal against them. After 9 minutes of play, Meterik's Jan Zoontjens made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Kevin Salens was left in no man's land by his defense there! Hans Sanders sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Meterik getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Jan Zoontjens hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hans Sanders in the 23rd minute of play forced Neersteind HC's goalkeeper Kevin Salens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 26th minute, one of Neersteind HC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Neersteind HC. In the 28th minute there was a penalty for Meterik. Jasper Roelofsen stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Kevin Salens. 0-2. In the 31stth minute of the game Dirk Zijlstra who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Meterik's Sjoerd Kruis was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 32 minutes into the match, Meterik's goalkeeper Sjoerd Kruis had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Wilco Kloppenburg. 34 minutes into the match, Neersteind HC's goal looked a bit too open when Jan Zoontjens came free, but Kevin Salens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 40th minute, Neersteind HC's Dirk Zijlstra dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. Ton Beuk charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ton Beuk the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Neersteind HC's Ton Beuk got a free kick in the 44th minute. After the first half Meterik were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dirk Zijlstra made a kick off. Elbert Senden hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Sjoerd Kruis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dirk Zijlstra in the 57th minute of the match. After 60 played minutes Meterik got a freekick which was hit by Daan Hommes. In the 60th minute of the match Marcus Schoonderwoerd sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sjoerd Kruis skillfully saved the ball. Dirk Zijlstra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sjoerd Kruis having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dirk Zijlstra in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sjoerd Kruis saved Meterik from getting behind. Dirk Zijlstra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Sjoerd Kruis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sjoerd Kruis stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dirk Zijlstra's shot from short distance in the 71st minute. Kevin Salens made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jan Zoontjens in the 73rd minute. Dirk Zijlstra scored 2-2 in the 76th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sjoerd Kruis, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Sjoerd Kruis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wilco Kloppenburg in the 81st minute of the match. 87 minutes into the match, Meterik's goal looked a bit too open when Dirk Zijlstra came free, but Sjoerd Kruis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wilco Kloppenburg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Sjoerd Kruis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dirk Zijlstra's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sjoerd Kruis read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 90th minute of play. In the 91st minute of the match Marcus Schoonderwoerd shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sjoerd Kruis showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 95 played minutes, Meterik's Emile Geerts shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Kevin Salens came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Meterik reached it. The Meterik players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Neersteind HC from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
