A collision led to Katerveer getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Stefano Teunissen hit a great ball. In the 8thth minute of the game Roland Lambers who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Katerveer's Ab Vaalman was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Pim Stroeve received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Ab Vaalman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 17 played minutes Steenoven got a freekick which was hit by Gerjan Thomasse. The audience was convinced that Ralf Abbekerk's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Martien de Jong was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. Thanks to some nice moves Pim Stroeve could shoot a difficult shot in the 24th minute, which Ab Vaalman however easily saved by the left post. After 29 played minutes Katerveer got a freekick which was hit by Filip Bogarde. Roland Lambers spun around in front of the goal 32 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Katerveer's goal. When Roland Lambers came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Steenoven fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Roland Lambers couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Katerveer's Vincent Decheiver got a free kick in the 39th minute. When Roland Lambers came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Steenoven fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Roland Lambers couldn't finish the play. In the 41st match minute, Katerveer was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Filip Bogarde to maneuver through the defense. Ab Vaalman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roland Lambers in the 45th minute of the match.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ralf Abbekerk to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Katerveer's goalkeeper Ab Vaalman, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Pascall Ploeger kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. 61 minutes into the match, Steenoven's Wim Sleiffer broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 71st minute, Wim Sleiffer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Martien de Jong showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ralf Abbekerk, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. After a rather tough play, Katerveer's Pascall Ploeger got a free kick in the 74th minute. The audience was convinced that Pim Stroeve's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ab Vaalman was relentless in the 77th minute of the game. Ralf Abbekerk received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Martien de Jong tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ralf Abbekerk sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 95th minute of the game. One of Steenoven:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Katerveer:s goal.
