Cees Reitsma took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wilfried Alards, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

FC Rotterdam's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wilfried Alards was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sjaak Matthijs hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. FC Rotterdam played a much better game than Tonnyke VV and deserved their victory. The Tonnyke VV players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
