Lennart Blind took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 19th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Dries Ekelhoff. Roosdaal Sport's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Gerwin Roelofs sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Barry Platvoet could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Gido Hesp made a huge save. When Donald Broerse came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Zuidbuurt FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Donald Broerse couldn't finish the play. Luuk Schuttrup was shown his second yellow card after 41 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After 42 played minutes Roosdaal Sport got a freekick which was hit by Luuk Schuttrup. In the 43rd minute, Ronny de Freitas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.
