Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Gijsbert Borgman took the kick off in the first half of the match. The audience was convinced that Gijsbert Borgman's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Remond Craandijk was relentless in the 12th minute of the game. Mathias Zoethout sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Remond Craandijk breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Giesendam's Remond Craandijk played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tom van Zanten in the 28th minute of play. Lieving's Pieter Palsma proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save Lieving from getting a goal against them. Remond Craandijk showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wim Brugmans in the 39th minute of the match. After 39 played minutes Giesendam got a freekick which was hit by Jack Kersten. Mathias Zoethout fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pieter Palsma having to interfere. After having played for 45 minutes, Theo Zonneveld managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Giesendam's supporters crossed their fingers, but Theo Zonneveld was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mathias Zoethout to make the kick off. Mathias Zoethout sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 55th minute Theo Zonneveld shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pieter Palsma saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 57 minutes into the game, one of Lieving:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Giesendam's Remond Craandijk played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gijsbert Borgman in the 63rd minute of play. Remond Craandijk took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hans de Jong, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mathias Zoethout received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Pieter Palsma tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 71st match minute, Lieving was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hans de Jong to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Lieving's Bennie van Persie got a free kick in the 85th minute. Tom van Zanten sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
