Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Eddy Pieters started the match with the kick off. 5 minutes into the match, Brienenoord's Pieter de Visscher sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Peter Saarloos narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Pieter Wielens kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. In the 14th match minute, Wanrooy Excelsior was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pieter Wielens to maneuver through the defense. Pieter de Visscher fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Peter Saarloos having to interfere. In the 17th minute of the match, Pieter de Visscher tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Peter Saarloos saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 19 minutes into the match, Pieter de Visscher dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Peter Saarloos, 1-0. The supporters of Wanrooy Excelsior booed when Brienenoord was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ryan van Nistelrooij didn't get a good kick on the ball. 40 minutes into the game, Oliver Ottens was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Brienenoord's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Wanrooy Excelsior the free kick. After a rather tough play, Brienenoord's Oliver Ottens got a free kick in the 41st minute. After 43 minutes, Martin van Someren mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Wanrooy Excelsior and the Brienenoord players grew even worse after the yellow card.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Pieter de Visscher made a kick off. If Pieter de Visscher had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bram Baalman hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Ralf Zoolingen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Wanrooy Excelsior booed when Brienenoord was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Theo Brons didn't get a good kick on the ball. Arie Wessels took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eddy Pieters, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eddy Pieters sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Brienenoord's zone, Eddy Pieters stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arie Wessels came out of the goal and Eddy Pieters tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Wanrooy Excelsior booed when Brienenoord was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oliver Ottens didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Theo Oorschot during the 73rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Wanrooy Excelsior's Theo Oorschot got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Wanrooy Excelsior's Peter Saarloos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ralf Zoolingen in the 77th minute of play. 92 minutes into the game, Ralf Zoolingen cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Peter Saarloos was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Geale Zondervan struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Arie Wessels didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Wanrooy Excelsior. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Brienenoord had won after a very even match.
