Oliver Daamen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 14th minute Bjorn Oss shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oliver Daamen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 17th minute Jan-Willem Andriessen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fred van Zijderveld saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Daarle's Bertus Mol got a free kick in the 19th minute. Jordy Westerhof took the ball and in the 22 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fred van Zijderveld. Fred van Zijderveld dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jan-Willem Andriessen in the 28th minute of play forced Hoonte's goalkeeper Fred van Zijderveld to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fred van Zijderveld made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jordy Westerhof in the 39th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Jordy Westerhof managed to get in a good position for a shot. Daarle's supporters rose to their feet, but Jordy Westerhof was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fred van Zijderveld breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Bjorn Oss fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oliver Daamen having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jan-Willem Andriessen to strike the kick off in the second half. Wouter Haremeijer charged in rather forcefully in the 51st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Wouter Haremeijer the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. If Bjorn Oss had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 56 minutes, Bjorn Oss managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hoonte's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bjorn Oss was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hoonte's Fred van Zijderveld played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jan-Willem Andriessen in the 68th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Emile Oss during the 72nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Daarle fans cheered their team off the field, for while Hoonte had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
