In the 22nd minute Ralf Ieberts shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ted Ottens saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 23rd match minute, Brandemolen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emile Hofs to maneuver through the defense. In the 24th minute, Kelvin Zondervan sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Brandemolen's Ted Ottens didn't even have to move. 27 minutes into the match, Ralf Ieberts notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Brandemolen's Ted Ottens. Ted Ottens was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The supporters of Vierhouten S.C. booed when Brandemolen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Henk Ronde didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jelmer Luijpers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Richard van der Weerden, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 43 minutes, Richard van der Weerden managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Brandemolen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Richard van der Weerden was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Richard van der Weerden made a kick off. Ralf Ieberts sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When Brandemolen's Joep Germs in the 57th minute got a chance for a shot 57th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ralf Ieberts couldn't finish the play. When Leon Mol fell near the penalty area in the 69th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Brandemolen's protests and gave Leon Mol a yellow card for diving instead. After 70 played minutes Brandemolen got a freekick which was hit by Leon Mol. Brandemolen's Ted Ottens proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 77th minute of the match, managed to save Brandemolen from getting a goal against them. If Ralf Ieberts had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Vierhouten S.C. had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
