Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Richard van der Weerden started the match with the kick off. In the 9thth minute of the game Klaas Jan Ubels who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Brandemolen's Ted Ottens was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some careless play in the Brandemolen defense, Ferdi Zielman kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ted Ottens. The Brandemolen fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ted Ottens should have stopped the shot. Wim Zoethout scored 0-2 in the 21st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ted Ottens, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 25 minutes into the match, HFC Haarlem's goalkeeper Marcel Knops had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Emile Hofs. If Fabian Caluwé had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marcel Knops made an important save on a dangerous shot by Emile Hofs in the 34th minute. 35 minutes into the match, HFC Haarlem's goalkeeper Marcel Knops had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Joep Germs. In the 42nd minute, Klaas Jan Ubels made a precise shot to the right of Ted Ottens. Brandemolen's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. After 46 played minutes HFC Haarlem got a freekick which was hit by Herbert van der Leegte. After the first half HFC Haarlem were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Klaas Jan Ubels stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Jelte Brinks hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Klaas Jan Ubelss short, quick shot in the 56thth minute got Ted Ottens to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Ferdi Zielman received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ted Ottens came out and tried to block the shot, but Ferdi Zielman slotted it home off the left post making it 0-4 in the 57th minute. In the 63rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Brandemolen's goalkeeper Ted Ottens, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 66th minute, Klaas Jan Ubels got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 72 minutes into the match, Richard van der Weerden had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Marcel Knops. HFC Haarlem's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Richard van der Weerden was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. Fabian Caluwé struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Ted Ottens didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for HFC Haarlem. Ted Ottens made an important save on a dangerous shot by Klaas Jan Ubels in the 77th minute. The supporters of HFC Haarlem booed when Brandemolen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wesley Ronde didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wesley Ronde took the ball and in the 87 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marcel Knops. Marcel Knops dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-5. 92 minutes into the match, Brandemolen's goal looked a bit too open when Klaas Jan Ubels came free, but Ted Ottens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Herbert van der Leegte kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. HFC Haarlem's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
