Everyone was convinced a goal was close when The Donkeys's Pieter Rutgers in the 4th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Brain Schaap was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for FC Mansieboys through an amazing save. In the 4th play minute Pieter Rutgers came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Brain Schaap. 1-0. When Martien Elshot fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Mansieboys's protests and gave Martien Elshot a yellow card for diving instead. Martien Elshot kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. A hard shot by Mathijs Kleefstra from long distance, 8 minutes into the match, got Brain Schaap's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. 10 minutes into the match, FC Mansieboys's Remond van der Werff sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dirk-Jan van Zonderen narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, The Donkeys's Jurre Zeevenhoven got a free kick in the 13th minute. Martien Elshot hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. The Donkeys's Mathijs Kleefstra couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 19th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for FC Mansieboys. Brain Schaap made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pieter Rutgers in the 20th minute of play. Brain Schaap didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Edgard Bijlsma went, in the 22nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Brain Schaap showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pieter Rutgers in the 35th minute of the match. If Pieter Rutgers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 40th minute, Wilco de Cock hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 41 minutes into the match, FC Mansieboys's goalkeeper Brain Schaap had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edgard Bijlsma. Pieter Rutgers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ted van Basten stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Brain Schaap showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edgard Bijlsma in the 51st minute of the match. In the 52nd minute, Martien Elshot hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 53 minutes, Pieter Rutgers managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The Donkeys's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pieter Rutgers was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Pieter Rutgers received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Brain Schaap tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Domenik Eringa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Brain Schaap tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 65th match minute, FC Mansieboys was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wilco de Cock to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in FC Mansieboys's zone, Edgard Bijlsma stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Brain Schaap came out of the goal and Edgard Bijlsma tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 73 played minutes FC Mansieboys got a freekick which was hit by Ted van Basten. After a rather tough play, FC Mansieboys's Olaf de Rudder got a free kick in the 76th minute. Brain Schaap showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pieter Rutgers in the 77th minute of the match. 80 minutes into the match, FC Mansieboys's goal looked a bit too open when Edgard Bijlsma came free, but Brain Schaap reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 5-0 became the score in the 81st minute when Pieter Rutgers elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. After 84 played minutes FC Mansieboys got a freekick which was hit by Ted van Basten. With 85 minutes on the clock, Elco Spanjaard commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The referee gave The Donkeys a penalty, 88 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Mathijs Kleefstra, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of FC Mansieboys's Brain Schaap. 6-0. Edgard Bijlsma received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Brain Schaap tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 97th minute Pieter Rutgers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brain Schaap saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. The Donkeys had played much better football throughout.
