Gentle Ds's Stefan Harding got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Leendert van Gaal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Max Kramer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 14th minute, Stefan Harding got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Leendert van Gaal's late challenge caught a Nooitgedacht VV's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Leendert van Gaal helped the player get up and apologised. Gentle Ds's Robbie Legdeur played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Lodewijks in the 22nd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Leendert van Gaal managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gentle Ds's supporters rose to their feet, but Leendert van Gaal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Max Kramer breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 25 minutes into the game, Stefan Harding was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gentle Ds's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Nooitgedacht VV the free kick. The referee ignored Nooitgedacht VV's protests and gave Remond van Bronckhorst a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Nooitgedacht VV getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Remond van Bronckhorst hit a great ball. Max Kramer made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Wim Pieters sent off a good shot on target. Stefan Harding could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Max Kramer made a huge save. In the 41st minute Pieter van Fessum shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Max Kramer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 47th minute of the match Timo Schild shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Robbie Legdeur showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Oscar Saveneijs short, quick shot in the 84thth minute got Robbie Legdeur to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Gentle Ds were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Nooitgedacht VV to leave the ground with a draw.
