In the 16th minute Stefan Harding shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stef Kosterman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Endepoel FC booed when Gentle Ds was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dave Coopman didn't get a good kick on the ball. Martijn de Vries took the ball and in the 19 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Robbie Legdeur. Stef Kosterman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wim Pieters, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Pascall Spaan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stef Kosterman having to interfere. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.

But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stefan Harding couldn't finish the play.
