Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Serge Plagge started the match with the kick off. Reinier van Bronckhorst made a fantastic save in the 4th minute, when Arno Baan sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 6 minutes, Klaas Jan Harmens managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Elkenraad's supporters crossed their fingers, but Klaas Jan Harmens was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Roel Klasens stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Serge Plagge's shot from short distance in the 8th minute. Reinier van Bronckhorst was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Arno Baan showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 9 minute of play. In the 13th minute Jelle Kuypers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roel Klasens saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 17 minutes into the match, Elkenraad's Klaas Jan Harmens sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Roel Klasens narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as Giesbeek's Arno Baan slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Reinier van Bronckhorst. That made the score 2-0 after 21 minutes of play. Arno Baan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 27 minutes into the match, Elkenraad's goalkeeper Reinier van Bronckhorst had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Auke Moes. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Auke Moes during the 30th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 35th minute Elkenraad were awarded a corner. Gido Assendelft went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Gido Assendelft got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Roel Klasens quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Serge Plagge took the ball and in the 38 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Roel Klasens. Roel Klasens dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Roel Klasens showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Klaas Jan Harmens, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. 44 minutes into the match, Giesbeek's goal looked a bit too open when Serge Plagge came free, but Roel Klasens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 45 minutes, Serge Plagge made it 2-2 with a short kick to the right side. Giesbeek's Roel Klasens tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jelle Kuypers during the 47th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Elkenraad getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Jelle Kuypers hit a great ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Arno Baan was the one to do the kick off. Elkenraad's Reinier van Bronckhorst played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arno Baan in the 53rd minute of play. Serge Plagge fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roel Klasens having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Klaas Jan Harmens got free with Roel Klasens in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Serge Plagge received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Roel Klasens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 70 minutes into the game, Klaas Jan Harmens lined in a short shot 2-4 behind a frustrated Roel Klasens. Thijs Oorthuis took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 77th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Reinier van Bronckhorst. Elkenraad's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Reinier van Bronckhorst took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arno Baan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 80 played minutes Serge Plagge rounded Giesbeek's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 2-5. 86 minutes into the match, Arno Baan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Reinier van Bronckhorst. Elkenraad's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Arno Baan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-5. Roel Klasens was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Serge Plagge showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-6 in the 88 minute of play. Roel Klasens made an important save on a dangerous shot by Klaas Jan Harmens in the 92nd minute. Reinier van Bronckhorst took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Auke Moes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Elkenraad players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
