Ferdinant Toolenaar blasted a shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Roel Klasens having to make a save. After some careless play in the Smal defense, Auke Moes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Joep Luirink. The Smal fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joep Luirink should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, Giesbeek's Carlo Schuurmans got a free kick in the 19th minute. After 22nd play minutes Ferdinant Toolenaar shot 1-1, a short shot which went by Roel Klasens and just under the crossbar into goal. Giesbeek's Roel Klasens proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save Giesbeek from getting a goal against them. 34 minutes into the match, Giesbeek's goal looked a bit too open when Ferdinant Toolenaar came free, but Roel Klasens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 36 minutes, Roel Klasens successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Roel Klasens made a fantastic save in the 37th minute, when Kevin Plaggenborg sent off a good shot on target. After some careless play in the Giesbeek defense, Ferdinant Toolenaar kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Roel Klasens. The Giesbeek fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Roel Klasens should have stopped the shot. In the 44th minute Dennis Dalman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joep Luirink saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 48 minutes into the match, Smal's goal looked a bit too open when Arno Baan came free, but Joep Luirink reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

The wind increased when Ferdinant Toolenaar made the kick off in the second half. Joep Luirink showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rafael Zwart, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Joep Luirink stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Arno Baan's shot from short distance in the 53rd minute. After a rather tough play, Giesbeek's Dennis Dalman got a free kick in the 55th minute. During the 57th minute of the match Dennis Dalman completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Dennis Dalman a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 57th match minute, Giesbeek was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dennis Dalman to maneuver through the defense. Emile Schalkwijk charged in rather forcefully in the 62nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Emile Schalkwijk the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Emile Schalkwijk kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Kevin Plaggenborg's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Roel Klasens read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 65th minute of play. Roel Klasens showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ferdinant Toolenaar, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. The audience was convinced that Ferdinant Toolenaar's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Roel Klasens was relentless in the 74th minute of the game. Auke Moes struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Joep Luirink didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Giesbeek. If Kevin Plaggenborg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Auke Moes kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match.
