Martien Cruijff made an important save on a dangerous shot by Emiel Damen in the 6th minute. Bastiaan van Beukering charged in rather forcefully in the 7th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bastiaan van Beukering the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Bastiaan van Beukering kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. Ernest Schenkhuizen blasted a shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Martien Cruijff having to make a save. Meterik FC's Martien Cruijff played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ernest Schenkhuizen in the 13th minute of play. In the 15th minute, Jan-Peter Hoiting got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Arne Saarloos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Japke Rijaard read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. Arne Saarloos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Japke Rijaard having to interfere. Jan-Peter Hoiting fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Japke Rijaard having to interfere. Tjeerd de Zeeuw kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. In the 31st minute, Tjeerd de Zeeuw hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. John Meertens shot a long shot in the 32nd minute and a light blocked Martien Cruijff hadn't a chance when the ball went into goal on his right side. It was 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Emiel Damen managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hoogedijk's supporters rose to their feet, but Emiel Damen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Martien Cruijff breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jan-Peter Hoiting in the 43rd minute of play forced Hoogedijk's goalkeeper Japke Rijaard to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jan-Peter Hoiting struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Japke Rijaard didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Meterik FC. Jan-Peter Hoiting received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Japke Rijaard tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jan-Peter Hoiting made a kick off. Ramon Zorge hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Meterik FC's David Gerrits got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 55 played minutes Meterik FC got a freekick which was hit by Jelle Rijaard. Emiel Damen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Martien Cruijff having to interfere. In a very dangerous position, a player in Meterik FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 61st minute. Penalty! In the 65th minute, Ernest Schenkhuizen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Bastiaan van Beukering was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 66 minutes had been played. After 67 played minutes Meterik FC got a freekick which was hit by Bastiaan van Beukering. Emiel Damen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Martien Cruijff tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ernest Schenkhuizen might have been able to make a better finish in the 70th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Martien Cruijff. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ernest Schenkhuizen ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 71st minute, Jan-Peter Hoiting hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Emiel Damen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Emiel Damen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Martien Cruijff having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Emiel Damen managed to get in a good position for a shot. For all the effort they put into the match, the Meterik FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Hoogedijk.
