Frits Kuijpers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Niels van Basten in the 8th minute of play. Cor Kloppenburg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nico Mook, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 12th minute, Jan Holst hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 15th minute, Nico Mook made a precise shot to the right of Cor Kloppenburg. Ravensgat FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Cor Kloppenburg was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Hendrik Buskermolen. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nico Mook in the 20th minute of play forced Ravensgat FC's goalkeeper Cor Kloppenburg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cor Kloppenburg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nico Mook in the 23rd minute of play. In the 24th minute, Jan Holst hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nico Mook sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 27th minute, Gertjan Veenker hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Nico Mook's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cor Kloppenburg was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. 32 minutes into the match, Steenwijk's goal looked a bit too open when Brain Niekamp came free, but Frits Kuijpers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ravensgat FC's Brain Niekamp got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Niels van Basten came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Ravensgat FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Niels van Basten couldn't finish the play. 43 minutes into the match, Steenwijk's goal looked a bit too open when Brain Niekamp came free, but Frits Kuijpers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Brain Niekamp received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Frits Kuijpers tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nico Mook made a kick off. Joep Lans hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. 65 minutes into the match, Ravensgat FC's goal looked a bit too open when Bill Bemmel came free, but Cor Kloppenburg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Brain Niekamp who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 67thth minute tested the skills of Frits Kuijpers when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Cor Kloppenburg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nico Mook in the 74th minute of play. Jan Holst hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Cor Kloppenburg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bill Bemmel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Brain Niekamp managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ravensgat FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Brain Niekamp was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Frits Kuijpers breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Brain Niekamp could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 86th minute of the match, but Frits Kuijpers made a huge save. In the 88th minute, Ravensgat FC's Niels van Basten ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Frits Kuijpers. Frits Kuijpers yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. Joep Lans struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Cor Kloppenburg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Steenwijk. Bill Bemmel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cor Kloppenburg having to interfere. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
