In the 14th minute of the match, Bert Masker tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Koen van Boxel saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Harry Griemink fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bram Lindeman having to interfere. After having played for 20 minutes, Jhon Schalken managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Helmond Sport's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jhon Schalken was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gerrie van Bommel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 23 minutes, Timmie Zegwaard mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Roodewijk FC and the Helmond Sport players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 23 played minutes Roodewijk FC got a freekick which was hit by Timmie Zegwaard. Helmond Sport's Koen van Boxel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save Helmond Sport from getting a goal against them. Helmond Sport's Jhon Schalken got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Koen van Boxel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bert Masker in the 32nd minute of play. Jacob Hofmeester kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Willem Harding managed to get in a good position for a shot. Roodewijk FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Willem Harding was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Koen van Boxel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 40 minutes, Bert Masker mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Roodewijk FC and the Helmond Sport players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Roodewijk FC getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Bert Masker hit a great ball. Vincent Vorenkamp sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jhon Schalken stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Roodewijk FC's Bram Lindeman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jhon Schalken in the 51st minute of play. With an all-out effort, Helmond Sport's Bram Lindeman threw himself towards the right post 55 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Harry Griemink, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 59th minute, Jhon Schalken got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jacob Hofmeester charged in rather forcefully in the 64th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jacob Hofmeester the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 64th minute, Jacob Hofmeester hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Timmie Zegwaard in the 65th minute of play forced Helmond Sport's goalkeeper Koen van Boxel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Koen van Boxel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bert Masker in the 71st minute of the match. Oscar Wilson kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. 83 minutes into the match, Roodewijk FC's Govert Appel sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Koen van Boxel narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Alexander Meulenbergh hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Jhon Schalken fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bram Lindeman having to interfere. When the referee blew the final whistle, Roodewijk FC could leave the field as winners, despite Helmond Sport having more of the ball for most of the match.
