Co Ravenbergen might have been able to make a better finish in the 18th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Harris Ieberts. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Co Ravenbergen ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 19th minute Jorn Rodenboog shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Harris Ieberts saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Harris Ieberts made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jorn Rodenboog in the 21st minute of play. Harris Ieberts didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 22nd minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Franck Iepmann in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gilbert Daverveld saved ADO Den Haag from getting behind. Harris Ieberts showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jorn Rodenboog in the 28th minute of the match. Gilbert Daverveld made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Franck Iepmann in the 30th minute of play. Jorn Rodenboog sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Harris Ieberts made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when Co Ravenbergen sent off a good shot on target. In the 45th minute Ate Buys shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilbert Daverveld saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Franck Iepmann sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jack Snoeks stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Franck Iepmann's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Gilbert Daverveld firmly grabbed it by the left post. Jack Snoeks received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Gilbert Daverveld tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Harris Ieberts didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Co Ravenbergen went, in the 62nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Gilbert Daverveld showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jack Snoeks, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. After 68 played minutes ADO Den Haag got a freekick which was hit by Julius Landzaat. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Jack Snoeks managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mekkelholt's supporters rose to their feet, but Jack Snoeks was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gilbert Daverveld breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to ADO Den Haag getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Dave Mulders hit a great ball. Mekkelholt were awarded a corner in the 78th minute after ADO Den Haag's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Brain Haar took the corner. In the 79th match minute, Mekkelholt was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ate Buys to maneuver through the defense. Jorn Rodenboog fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Harris Ieberts having to interfere. Gilbert Daverveld took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jack Snoeks, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 87th match minute, ADO Den Haag was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dave Mulders to maneuver through the defense. Gilbert Daverveld made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jack Snoeks in the 93rd minute of play. Jack Snoeks fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilbert Daverveld having to interfere. The ADO Den Haag players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
