In the 24th minute Edward Akkerman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stephan Deijnen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 25th match minute, NKP Podhale Nowy Targ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rogier Wijkstra to maneuver through the defense. Jurre Wieringh showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Martien Wesseling in the 29th minute of the match. In the 34th minute the ball was on its way in behind Youth Academy PP's goalkeeper Jurre Wieringh, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 45th play minute Roland Arts came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Stephan Deijnen. 1-1. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Edward Akkerman to strike the kick off in the second half. When Paul van Zwieten fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored NKP Podhale Nowy Targ's protests and gave Paul van Zwieten a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to NKP Podhale Nowy Targ getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. The supporters of Youth Academy PP booed when NKP Podhale Nowy Targ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Christiaan Waidijk didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Edward Akkerman came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Youth Academy PP fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edward Akkerman couldn't finish the play. Johan de Visscher struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Stephan Deijnen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Youth Academy PP. Roland Arts's late challenge caught a NKP Podhale Nowy Targ's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Roland Arts helped the player get up and apologised. In the 87th match minute, Youth Academy PP was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roland Arts to maneuver through the defense. 90 minutes into the game, Klaas Jan Heide was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Youth Academy PP's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave NKP Podhale Nowy Targ the free kick.
