The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 27th minute, Sjoerd Schmidt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eelco Hartlief took the ball and in the 29 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tom van der Laan. Tom van der Laan dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. 33 minutes into the match, Maarsen's goal looked a bit too open when Bram Weerman came free, but Tom van der Laan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bram Weerman was extremely unlucky when he, in the 46th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ricky Kok to strike the kick off in the second half. After having played for 53 minutes, Eelco Hartlief managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hollenberg's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eelco Hartlief was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Maarsen's Donald Korf got a free kick in the 56th minute. Ronald Spiering's late challenge caught a Hollenberg's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ronald Spiering helped the player get up and apologised. In the 59th match minute, Maarsen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ronald Spiering to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Eelco Hartlief managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hollenberg's supporters rose to their feet, but Eelco Hartlief was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tom van der Laan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Hollenberg's Jan Hendrik Pothuizen quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Gert Nyemanting, made in the 64th minute of the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Bram Weerman managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hollenberg's supporters rose to their feet, but Bram Weerman was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tom van der Laan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tom van der Laan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bram Weerman in the 69th minute of play. A collision led to Hollenberg getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Robert-Jan Wittendorp hit a great ball. Tom van der Laan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Meindert Groten in the 75th minute of the match. 79 minutes into the game, Hollenberg's Bram Weerman nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tom van der Laan made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. Bram Weerman blasted a shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tom van der Laan having to make a save. When Sjoerd Schmidt was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 84 minutes had been played. In the 84th match minute, Maarsen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sjoerd Schmidt to maneuver through the defense. In the 86th minute, Bram Weerman got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Bram Weerman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Tom van der Laan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bram Weerman's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tom van der Laan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 92nd minute of play. The supporters of Hollenberg booed when Maarsen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ronald Spiering didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tom van der Laan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eelco Hartlief in the 96th minute of play. Hollenberg walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
