The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jan van der Weerden sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jan van der Weerden fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rafael van Dinteren having to interfere. Meindert Theisens might have been able to make a better finish in the 28th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dirk Stuifzand. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Meindert Theisens ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 42ndth minute of the game Jan van der Weerden who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Westdijk's Rafael van Dinteren was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kelvin Plaggenborg to make the kick off. Jordy Nieuwendijk got his second yellow card in the match during the 60th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Dirk Stuifzand came out of the goal and Dolf Rodenberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 82nd minute, Arnout Robben hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dirk Stuifzand made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dolf Rodenberg in the 88th minute of play. In the 90th minute, Dolf Rodenberg left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Westdijk fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Jan-Willem Kiewiet charged in rather forcefully in the 93rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jan-Willem Kiewiet the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Jan-Willem Kiewiet hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. Westdijk's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
