Fabian Vaalman's late challenge caught a Westdijk's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fabian Vaalman helped the player get up and apologised. After 4 played minutes Holy Owls FC got a freekick which was hit by Fabian Vaalman. Dolf Rodenberg hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. When Reinhard Zeldenrust came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Holy Owls FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Reinhard Zeldenrust couldn't finish the play. Westdijk's Rafael van Dinteren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reinhard Zeldenrust in the 15th minute of play. Jeffrey Staal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kelvin Plaggenborg in the 17th minute of the match. Jeffrey Staal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kelvin Plaggenborg in the 18th minute of play. Rafael van der Aa charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rafael van der Aa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. When Westdijk's Kelvin Plaggenborg in the 26th minute got a chance for a shot 26th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After a defensive mix-up in Holy Owls FC's zone, Kelvin Plaggenborg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jeffrey Staal came out of the goal and Kelvin Plaggenborg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Dolf Rodenberg managed to get in a good position for a shot. Westdijk's supporters rose to their feet, but Dolf Rodenberg was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jeffrey Staal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Dolf Rodenberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dirk-Jan Bense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Reinhard Zeldenrust managed to get in a good position for a shot. Holy Owls FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Reinhard Zeldenrust was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rafael van Dinteren breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Rafael van Dinteren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dirk-Jan Bense, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Reinhard Zeldenrust was the one to do the kick off. Reinhard Zeldenrust fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rafael van Dinteren having to interfere. Kelvin Plaggenborg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Jeffrey Staal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fabian Vaalman hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. Jeffrey Staal stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kelvin Plaggenborg's shot from short distance in the 70th minute. Kelvin Plaggenborg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 78th minute Dolf Rodenberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeffrey Staal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jeffrey Staal came out of the goal and Dolf Rodenberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dolf Rodenberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Jeffrey Staal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Meindert Theisens fell near the penalty area in the 84th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Westdijk's protests and gave Meindert Theisens a yellow card for diving instead. Dirk-Jan Bense could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Rafael van Dinteren made a huge save. Jeffrey Staal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dolf Rodenberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. For all the effort they put into the match, the Holy Owls FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Westdijk.
