In the 52nd minute Teo van Baarle shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Florian van Galen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sjaak van Hintum made an important save on a dangerous shot by Erben Veldhuis in the 53rd minute. When Teo van Baarle fell near the penalty area in the 56th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Loobeek's protests and gave Teo van Baarle a yellow card for diving instead. In the 59th minute, Jeroen Hoekstra got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 74 minutes into the match, Loobeek's goalkeeper Sjaak van Hintum had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Raymond den Engelsman. If Raymond den Engelsman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Loobeek's zone, Erben Veldhuis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sjaak van Hintum came out of the goal and Erben Veldhuis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 81st minute, Gregor Mensing hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Gio Thole had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Raymond den Engelsman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fortuna Sittard's Raymond den Engelsman managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Gregor Mensing in the 95 minute of the game.
