In the 3rd match minute, Emmermeer HC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ronny Nagel to maneuver through the defense. Benjamin Bouma's late challenge caught a Emmermeer HC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Benjamin Bouma helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Emmermeer HC booed when Overveen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benjamin Bouma didn't get a good kick on the ball. Martin Hilhorst made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pim Wiggers in the 7th minute of play. Folker Collins kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benjamin Bouma in the 10th minute of play forced Emmermeer HC's goalkeeper Gooitzen de Jong to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 12th minute Pim Wiggers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Martin Hilhorst saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pim Wiggers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 24th minute Benjamin Bouma shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gooitzen de Jong saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 26 minutes into the match, Overveen's goalkeeper Martin Hilhorst had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Robert-Jan Zeydeveld. Gooitzen de Jong made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benjamin Bouma in the 31st minute of play. Overveen's defense didn't have a chance, in the 33rd minute, when Pim Wiggers scored to the left of an out of position Martin Hilhorst, making the score, 1-0. Robert-Jan Zeydeveld fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Martin Hilhorst having to interfere. If Ted Willemse had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 43rd match minute, Emmermeer HC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wim Snijders to maneuver through the defense. Ted Willemse's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gooitzen de Jong read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 45th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

56 minutes into the match, Emmermeer HC's goalkeeper Gooitzen de Jong had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ted Willemse. Ted Willemse sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 68th match minute, Overveen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Diderik Lindenbergh to maneuver through the defense. In the 73rd minute, Diderik Lindenbergh hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 75 minutes into the game, Ger Polak was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Overveen's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Emmermeer HC the free kick. After having played for 76 minutes, Robert-Jan Zeydeveld managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Emmermeer HC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Robert-Jan Zeydeveld was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 77th minute, Ger Polak hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Martin Hilhorst made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pim Wiggers in the 79th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Emmermeer HC's zone, Benjamin Bouma stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gooitzen de Jong came out of the goal and Benjamin Bouma tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 83 played minutes Emmermeer HC got a freekick which was hit by Freek Bults. Benjamin Bouma sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ted Willemse struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Gooitzen de Jong didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Overveen. For all the effort they put into the match, the Overveen players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Emmermeer HC.
