Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Loobeek's Teo van Baarle started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Freek Bults might have been able to make a better finish in the 8th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sjaak van Hintum. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Freek Bults ran back to his position shaking his head. Sjaak van Hintum showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Robert-Jan Zeydeveld, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. In the 14th minute Pim Wiggers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sjaak van Hintum saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 32 minutes into the game, Emmermeer HC's Freek Bults nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sjaak van Hintum made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. 34 minutes into the game, Wim Snijders was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Emmermeer HC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Loobeek the free kick. In the 34th minute, Wim Snijders hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Freek Bults struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Sjaak van Hintum didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Emmermeer HC. Gregor Mensing received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Gooitzen de Jong tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 44 minutes into the game, Pim Wiggers cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Sjaak van Hintum was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After the first half Emmermeer HC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Pim Wiggers to strike the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Loobeek's goal looked a bit too open when Pim Wiggers came free, but Sjaak van Hintum reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sjaak van Hintum made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Robert-Jan Zeydeveld sent off a good shot on target. Sjaak van Hintum didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Robert-Jan Zeydeveld went, in the 70th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, Emmermeer HC's Pim Wiggers got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Teo van Baarle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gooitzen de Jong having to interfere. Wim Snijders received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Sjaak van Hintum came out and tried to block the shot, but Wim Snijders slotted it home off the left post making it 0-4 in the 77th minute. After a rather tough play, Loobeek's Gregor Mensing got a free kick in the 81st minute. If Pim Wiggers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 88 played minutes Loobeek got a freekick which was hit by Teo van Baarle. The Emmermeer HC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Emmermeer HC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
