The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the match, Riperkerk SC's goal looked a bit too open when Mickael Matthijs came free, but Teo Sijmonds reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 5th minute, Mickael Matthijs left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SV Ouwerkerk fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. 11 minutes into the game, SV Ouwerkerk's Ate Scheepstra nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Teo Sijmonds made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. When the match had gone on for 16 minutes, Filip Egberts put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Teo Sijmonds. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jens Warringa in the 23rd minute of play forced Riperkerk SC's goalkeeper Teo Sijmonds to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 26 minutes of play, SV Ouwerkerk's Jens Warringa made it 0-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Teo Sijmonds was left in no man's land by his defense there! Riemer Rooze sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 37th minute, Mickael Matthijs ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Teo Sijmonds was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-6. 40 minutes into the match, SV Ouwerkerk's goal looked a bit too open when Jelmer Grasmaaijer came free, but Kevin Vennegoor reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 44 minutes into the game, SV Ouwerkerk's Jens Warringa nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Riemer Rooze made a kick off. Teo Sijmonds took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jens Warringa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Riperkerk SC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 66th minute, when Jens Warringa scored to the left of an out of position Teo Sijmonds, making the score, 0-8. 75 minutes into the match, Riperkerk SC's goalkeeper Teo Sijmonds had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Filip Egberts. The supporters of SV Ouwerkerk booed when Riperkerk SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tjeerd Ritsma didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jens Warringa in the 80th minute of play forced Riperkerk SC's goalkeeper Teo Sijmonds to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Riemer Rooze had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 86 minutes into the game, Filip Egberts recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Teo Sijmonds. Filip Egberts showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-9. Filip Egberts's late challenge caught a Riperkerk SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Filip Egberts helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Riperkerk SC booed when SV Ouwerkerk was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Filip Egberts didn't get a good kick on the ball. Riemer Rooze received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Kevin Vennegoor tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Riperkerk SC's Teo Sijmonds played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jens Warringa in the 96th minute of play. The Riperkerk SC manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing SV Ouwerkerk to win.
