Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Fabian Middel took the kick off in the first half of the match. After a rather tough play, Rotterdam Lions's Marcel Som got a free kick in the 4th minute. Wim Rooy recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 5th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fabian Middel in the 6th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gert Ensing saved Rotterdam Lions from getting behind. Damien Koopmans sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rogier Wortelboer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gido van Veldhuizen, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Hommerts HC's Rogier Wortelboer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Damien Koopmans in the 13th minute of play. Gido van Veldhuizen blasted a shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rogier Wortelboer having to make a save. Damien Koopmans sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gido van Veldhuizen in the 28th minute of play forced Hommerts HC's goalkeeper Rogier Wortelboer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rogier Wortelboer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gido van Veldhuizen, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Hommerts HC's zone, Damien Koopmans stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rogier Wortelboer came out of the goal and Damien Koopmans tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rogier Wortelboer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Damien Koopmans in the 34th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fabian Middel in the 36th minute of play forced Rotterdam Lions's goalkeeper Gert Ensing to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Rotterdam Lions's Damien Koopmans in the 38th minute got a chance for a shot 38th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Hommerts HC's goalie prevented a goal. If Fabian Middel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Damien Koopmans's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rogier Wortelboer read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Hommerts HC's Olaf Westra got a free kick in the 43rd minute. The audience was convinced that Gido van Veldhuizen's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rogier Wortelboer was relentless in the 46th minute of the game. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Wim Rooy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Gert Ensing tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jelle Grol hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. If Fabian Middel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The referee showed Henk Degenkamp the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Rotterdam Lions booed when Hommerts HC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tim Overdiep didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 81 played minutes Hommerts HC got a freekick which was hit by Olaf Westra. Rogier Wortelboer didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gido van Veldhuizen went, in the 82nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Jelle Grol's late challenge caught a Hommerts HC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jelle Grol helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Rotterdam Lions's Jelle Grol got a free kick in the 84th minute. Gido van Veldhuizen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 89 minutes, Abraham Hendrik de Wolf mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hommerts HC and the Rotterdam Lions players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Hommerts HC's Abraham Hendrik de Wolf got a free kick in the 89th minute. Rogier Wortelboer stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gido van Veldhuizen's shot from short distance in the 92nd minute. 93 minutes into the match, Rotterdam Lions's Gido van Veldhuizen sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rogier Wortelboer narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Gido van Veldhuizen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rick van Rijswijk charged in rather forcefully in the 99th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rick van Rijswijk the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Rotterdam Lions's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
