If William Stabbe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of The Dark Lion booed when Fc. Nickstar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frans Bette didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 8th minute the ball was on its way in behind Fc. Nickstar's goalkeeper Wim Bekker, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Wim Bekker was out of position in the 9 minute of play, and Frans Reinhard capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Frans Reinhard really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. In the 13th match minute, The Dark Lion was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gerrie Harms to maneuver through the defense. In the 14th minute of the match Frederik van Wonderen shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Steven Baars showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 15th minute Hans Konterman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Steven Baars saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arno Blanc lost his temper 18 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. If Ahmet Emir Ersezen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fc. Nickstar's Wim Bekker proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save Fc. Nickstar from getting a goal against them. After 29 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Fc. Nickstar! When the match had been going on for 30 minutes, The Dark Lion's Gerrie Harms got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Wim Bekker. Steven Baars showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ferdi Thijsse, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by William Stabbe during the 37th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ahmet Emir Ersezen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wim Bekker having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell William Stabbe to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Ahmet Emir Ersezen had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Wim Bekker. Fc. Nickstar's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ahmet Emir Ersezen was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. The Dark Lion's Marco Famelen got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 60th match minute, Fc. Nickstar was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Maurits van der Linden to maneuver through the defense. In the 61st minute Gerrie Harms shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wim Bekker saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 62nd match minute, The Dark Lion was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by John Rinzema to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 65 minutes, William Stabbe managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The Dark Lion's supporters crossed their fingers, but William Stabbe was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Dark Lion's Ahmet Emir Ersezen got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers William Stabbe in the 70th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Wim Bekker saved Fc. Nickstar from getting behind. Fc. Nickstar's Wim Bekker played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ahmet Emir Ersezen in the 74th minute of play. William Stabbe took the ball and in the 75 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Wim Bekker. Wim Bekker dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. When Marco Famelen fell near the penalty area in the 79th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored The Dark Lion's protests and gave Marco Famelen a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, The Dark Lion's Marco Famelen got a free kick in the 79th minute. Wim Bekker made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ahmet Emir Ersezen in the 82nd minute of play. Wim Bekker showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from William Stabbe, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. After 84 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Fc. Nickstar! The referee gave The Dark Lion a penalty, 86 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Gerrie Harms, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Fc. Nickstar's Wim Bekker. 5-1. Daniel Hoving hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. Alexander Nieuwburg came free with the goalkeeper in the 94th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Steven Baars could save by the left post. In the 96th match minute, Fc. Nickstar was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Frans Bette to maneuver through the defense. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. The Dark Lion fully deserved thier win.
