The audience thought a goal was coming when David Wansink got free with Marco Zilverberg in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 4 minutes into the game, Coos Wijkstra was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. AC Lithium's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hoekske FC the free kick. Coos Wijkstra hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. Daan Wijkstra kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. Marco Zilverberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Berry Tuyp in the 10th minute of the match. Berry Tuyp's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marco Zilverberg read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. Marco Zilverberg made an important save on a dangerous shot by David Wansink in the 20th minute. Berry Tuyp was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 22nd minute. Hoekske FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 23rd minute, Berry Tuyp got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 29 minutes into the game, David Wansink cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Marco Zilverberg was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Berry Tuyp fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marco Zilverberg having to interfere. After 33 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for AC Lithium! When Laurens Klok fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored AC Lithium's protests and gave Laurens Klok a yellow card for diving instead. In the 41st match minute, AC Lithium was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Laurens Klok to maneuver through the defense. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The wind increased when Emile Germs made the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Hoekske FC getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Pim Haken hit a great ball. Theo Springelkamp made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emile Germs in the 52nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by David Wansink in the 53rd minute of play forced AC Lithium's goalkeeper Marco Zilverberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Berry Tuyp kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. Richard Boshuis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. AC Lithium's Richard Boshuis got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 64th minute, Sven Dalmeijer got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Emile Germs received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Theo Springelkamp tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Arjen Slot fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Hoekske FC's protests and gave Arjen Slot a yellow card for diving instead. Emile Germs received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Theo Springelkamp came out and tried to block the shot, but Emile Germs slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 69th minute. After a rather tough play, AC Lithium's Sven Dalmeijer got a free kick in the 72nd minute. 76 minutes into the match, AC Lithium's goal looked a bit too open when Berry Tuyp came free, but Marco Zilverberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
