Hoogeberg HC's Giel Heubach played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Richard Boshuis in the 23rd minute of play. In the 25th minute of the match, Emile Germs tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Giel Heubach saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Hub Hoffhuis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marco Zilverberg read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. 32 minutes into the match, AC Lithium's goal looked a bit too open when Franck Roswinkel came free, but Marco Zilverberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Coos Wijkstra charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Coos Wijkstra the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Hoogeberg HC's Ferdinant Blanc got a free kick in the 54th minute. A hard shot 59 in the game by Eddy Woudenberg from a close distance when the talented Marco Zilverberg managed to make a qualified save. AC Lithium's players were relieved. Hub Hoffhuis might have been able to make a better finish in the 62nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marco Zilverberg. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out.
