Theo Springelkamp showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hub Hoffhuis in the 17th minute of the match. Hub Hoffhuis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Theo Springelkamp read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. Joop Valk received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Theo Springelkamp tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Menno Hoffhuis took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 27th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Theo Springelkamp. Theo Springelkamp didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hoogeberg HC. Theo Springelkamp was a little too slow when Hub Hoffhuis got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 31st minute. The score was now 1-0. Theo Springelkamp stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hub Hoffhuis's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. Hoogeberg HC's Ferdinant Blanc got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hub Hoffhuis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Theo Springelkamp tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Giel Heubach came out of the goal in the 47th minute to try and stop a shot by Hoekske FC's David Wansink. But to his dismay, David Wansink quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Hoekske FC's Theo Springelkamp played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eddy Woudenberg in the 54th minute of play. Giel Heubach made an important save on a dangerous shot by David Wansink in the 57th minute. The audience was convinced that Hub Hoffhuis's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Theo Springelkamp was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. Berry Tuyp hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match.
