Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Ferdinant Maseland started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. After 4 played minutes Algarvistan FC got a freekick which was hit by Ramon Robbermond. Algarvistan FC's Sebastiaan Barends proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save Algarvistan FC from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Scherwolde booed when Algarvistan FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ramon Robbermond didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 22 played minutes, Scherwolde's Jorn de Groot shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Sebastiaan Barends came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Scherwolde reached it. In the 27th minute, Scherwolde's Ferdinant Maseland dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. In the 31st minute of the match Jan-Willem Baptist sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mirko Halen skillfully saved the ball. Ed Polak could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Sebastiaan Barends made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Algarvistan FC's Robert Reitsma got a free kick in the 36th minute. Ed Polak recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Johannes Beukenkamp sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mirko Halen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlo Veltrop in the 47th minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.
The wind increased when Carlo Veltrop made the kick off in the second half. 59 minutes into the game, Scherwolde's Ferdinant Maseland nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sebastiaan Barends made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Robert Reitsma received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Mirko Halen came out and tried to block the shot, but Robert Reitsma slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 68th minute. Ferdinant Maseland fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sebastiaan Barends having to interfere. In the 77th minute, Robert Reitsma left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Algarvistan FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. The crowd rose to their feet as Carlo Veltrop kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Mirko Halen. That made the score 2-3 in the 86 minute of play. Johannes Beukenkamp struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Mirko Halen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Algarvistan FC. Scherwolde's Mirko Halen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlo Veltrop in the 92nd minute of play. Algarvistan FC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
