Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) FC Barretts's Maurice van der Wiel started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Adriaan Veen stood somewhat misplaced when Carlo Veltrop came free in front of goal and shot 1-0 to the left of him in the 3 minute. Sebastiaan Barends showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maurice van der Wiel in the 7th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ramon Robbermond during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of FC Barretts booed when Algarvistan FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ramon Robbermond didn't get a good kick on the ball. Robert Reitsma could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Adriaan Veen made a huge save. Robert Reitsma in the 32ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Adriaan Veen, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Carlo Veltrop to strike the kick off in the second half. Adriaan Veen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Robert Reitsma in the 52nd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in FC Barretts's zone, Robert Reitsma stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adriaan Veen came out of the goal and Robert Reitsma tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rein Sanders charged in rather forcefully in the 61st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rein Sanders the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 62 minutes into the match, Algarvistan FC's Falco Hanekamp broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Gerrie Meijeringh's late challenge caught a Algarvistan FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gerrie Meijeringh helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to FC Barretts getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Gerrie Meijeringh hit a great ball. Johannes Beukenkamp struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Adriaan Veen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Algarvistan FC. Robert Reitsma's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Adriaan Veen read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 73rd minute of play. After having played for 77 minutes, Carlo Veltrop managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Algarvistan FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carlo Veltrop was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Maurice van der Wiel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Robert Reitsma received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Adriaan Veen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Carlo Veltrop sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 95 minutes into the match, FC Barretts's goal looked a bit too open when Carlo Veltrop came free, but Adriaan Veen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. For all the effort they put into the match, the FC Barretts players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Algarvistan FC.
