Samsunspor's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Diepenbroek the free kick. The supporters of Diepenbroek booed when Samsunspor was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ernst Boeringe didn't get a good kick on the ball. Timmie Wessel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Robbie Meijer having to interfere. 21 minutes into the match, Diepenbroek's Marc Kuijpers sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Robbie Meijer narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A collision led to Diepenbroek getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Riemer van der Aa hit a great ball. Coenraad Verweijen scored 0-1 in the 25th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ben Zeegelaar, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 30thth minute of the game Timmie Wessel who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Samsunspor's Robbie Meijer was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Rein Derks fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ben Zeegelaar having to interfere. In the 34th minute, Thomas van der Wiel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 36th minute, Rein Derks got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Hans van Zonderen charged in rather forcefully in the 38th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hans van Zonderen the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Diepenbroek's Hans van Zonderen got a free kick in the 38th minute. Diepenbroek's Marc Kuijpers got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 44th match minute, Samsunspor was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pieter Boshuis to maneuver through the defense. If Marc Kuijpers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Timmie Wessel to strike the kick off in the second half. Timmie Wessel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Robbie Meijer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Marc Kuijpers came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Diepenbroek fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marc Kuijpers couldn't finish the play. In the 56th match minute, Samsunspor was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Klaas Ruben to maneuver through the defense. Klaas Ruben hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. In the 58th minute of the match Timmie Bult shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Robbie Meijer showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Klaas Ruben kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. After 65 minutes, Timmie Wessel made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Samsunspor's Robbie Meijer tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 70 minutes into the game, Marc Kuijpers cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Samsunspor's Robbie Meijer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Timmie Wessel in the 75th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Rein Derks managed to get in a good position for a shot. Samsunspor's supporters rose to their feet, but Rein Derks was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ben Zeegelaar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Robbie Meijer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Timmie Wessel in the 83rd minute of play. Robbie Meijer stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Thomas van der Wiel's shot from short distance in the 88th minute. 93 minutes into the match, Samsunspor's goal looked a bit too open when Marc Kuijpers came free, but Robbie Meijer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
