The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Cees Korf hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Munnikemeer United's Andy Bruin got a free kick in the 9th minute. Yuri Oosterhof recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 19th match minute, Aaldonk Utd was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stef Carel to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Stef Carel in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gerrit de Lange prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Stef Carel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Gerrit de Lange tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gerrit de Lange took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stef Carel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Stef Carel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 34 minutes, Stef Carel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Aaldonk Utd's supporters crossed their fingers, but Stef Carel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gerrit de Lange stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Stef Carel's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. In the 39th minute, Arnout Stigt made a precise shot to the right of Gerrit de Lange. Munnikemeer United's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. The supporters of Munnikemeer United booed when Aaldonk Utd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Yuri Oosterhof didn't get a good kick on the ball. 43 minutes into the match, Aaldonk Utd's goal looked a bit too open when Auke Lyle came free, but Theo Broekema reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Arnout Stigt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Aaldonk Utd were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

54 minutes into the match, Aaldonk Utd's Coenraad Wagenaar broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Munnikemeer United's Gerrit de Lange proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to save Munnikemeer United from getting a goal against them. 71 minutes into the match, Stef Carel notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Munnikemeer United's Gerrit de Lange. Gerrit de Lange was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Stef Carel's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gerrit de Lange read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 74th minute of play. Gerrit de Lange made a fantastic save in the 80th minute, when Stef Carel sent off a good shot on target. Martien Israel kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. If Stef Carel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Arnout Stigt came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Aaldonk Utd fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arnout Stigt couldn't finish the play. In the 88th minute the ball was on its way in behind Munnikemeer United's goalkeeper Gerrit de Lange, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Gerrit de Lange showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Yuri Oosterhof in the 89th minute of the match. After having played for 92 minutes, Stef Carel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Aaldonk Utd's supporters crossed their fingers, but Stef Carel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gerrit de Lange showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Yuri Oosterhof, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. Theo Beukers's late challenge caught a Aaldonk Utd's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Theo Beukers helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Aaldonk Utd booed when Munnikemeer United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Theo Beukers didn't get a good kick on the ball.
