Ruben van Steensel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Wilfred Niekamp was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 86th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Ruben van Steensel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Egbert van der Sar, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. If Frederik de Hondt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Baby Kanarie Kicks had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
